Kelsea DeGaetano bio

Kelsea DeGaetano is the owner and founder of Kelsea Designs, a storefront located in Pierceton, Indiana that offers refurbished furniture and more. Kelsea’s business venture began in 2011 right out of her family home! After crafting and creating for a while, her parents helped her see that what she was creating could be offered to the community. So, she started attending craft shows and markets and eventually gained a small following. Over the next couple of years, after graduating high school and college with a degree in interior design, she decided to purchase a brick-and-mortar store in July of 2014. Since opening Kelsea Designs, she has added selling vintage furniture to her resume and does a lot of custom painted furniture as well as custom crafted items.

Kelsea is 28 years old and has been married to her husband, Lorenzo, for 5 years. They were high school sweethearts and Lorenzo has been a rock for Kelsea as she’s journeyed through school, crafting as a hobby, and now her adventures in business. Their favorite thing to do together is travel, especially to Michigan. Some of their favorite Michigan spots include Ludington, Mackinac Island, St. Joseph, and Munising. Kelsea loves all things outdoors such as camping, hiking, gardening, and landscaping.

Kelsea’s passion in life is to share her love of old, broken things and showing others that they can be made new again.

When asked to share words of wisdom with other women wanting to start their own business, Kelsea said,

“Just do it! When the fear of standing still is greater than the fear of moving forward, that’s when you know you must do it. Take the jump off the cliff and ignore the skepticism coming from others or yourself!”
