Every health insurance carrier has a 1-800 number that you can call during business hours, at any time throughout the week.
That phone number can be found on the back of your health insurance ID card.
We’re all familiar with how 1-800 numbers work though, and sometimes it can be hard to connect with someone right away. Before you call, check out these tips on some of the best times to call a 1-800 number:
- Statistically, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days to call to get through to someone faster
- Mondays are the worst time to call and are statistically the busiest!
- If you can, call first thing in the morning, or at least before noon
- If there’s an option to have them hold your place in line and call you back, we recommend you take advantage of that so you’re not wasting your time on hold!
