A qualifying event is a change in life circumstances that allows you to enroll in your employer’s health insurance plan mid-year, as long as you notify your employer within 30 days of your prior loss of coverage. It’s vital that you let your HR manager know of your loss of coverage within that 30-day window, or you will not be able to enroll mid-year onto your employer’s health plan.
